With the classical accordion Lauren placed 8th in the Trophie Mondiale (Switzerland 2015), 2nd in the UK Accordion Championships (Liverpool 2015) and 1st in the All-Ireland Accordion Championships (2016).

In 2016 Lauren completed her BA(Hons) degree in music at Dundalk Institute of Technology in which she received the DkIT President’s Prize for Academic Excellence. She studied subjects such as music history, theory, business, composition, ensemble performance, popular studies and specialized in solo performance.

Lauren’s PhD in musicology (2017-2021) delves into the history of music institutionalization and the development of music grade examinations. Throughout her research, she published an article in the book ‘Accordion Anthology 2’ by Rob Howard (2019) and presented at various conferences both nationally and internationally. In 2021, Lauren collaborated with Christina Lynn, DkIT and Claddagh Records to typeset a musical score of the 20th century Irish composer Frederick May.

Lauren has a passion for performance and is currently the accordionist for the Dublin based tango quintet Hibertango.

Lauren has over five years piano teaching experience. She enjoys sharing her musical passion and helping her students to reach their full musical potential. Lauren believes in graded examinations to ensure a well-rounded musical progression along with the incorporation of contemporary repertoire and performance.
