RIAM Practical LIVE Exams for students who require accompaniment

If you have received a text informing you that your child—or you, as an adult student— are ready to sit the Royal Irish Academy Practical Live Exam, and you wish for us to proceed with the exam application, please confirm by sending us a message by the 26th of September, 5pm. The exam will be held in our schools in Rush on the 15th of March and Skerries on the 8th of March (both Sundays).  The rehearsal with accompanists will be held in Keys & Strings SKERRIES on the 1st of March (Sunday).

If the date of the exam is not suitable for you please let us know to discuss alternative options.

Along with your confirmation, kindly provide the following information:

1. Full name to appear on the certificate.

2. Learning needs or disabilities you or you child might have (if applicable).

Please note that, violin, flute, and singing students must rehearse with a piano accompanist before their exam and also have accompaniment on the exam day. A professional piano accompanist will be provided, and an additional fee applies:

  • Rehearsal: All instruments and Classical Singing €30 for 30 minutes rehearsal. Musical Theatre students €45 for 45 minutes rehearsal. 
  • Exam day accompaniment fee: All instruments, classical singing (grades up to 3) €30. All instruments and classical singing students grades 4-8 €40. All grades Musical theatre students €60.
